CosyCool duvets began thanks to a king size issue
between husband and wife...
“I can’t sleep with this 13.5 tog duvet, it makes me too hot, and you freeze if it’s
any lighter – what are we going to do about it?”
This was a tired Ian Pressman talking to his tired wife Ruth one winter morning.
After several high street trips and an afternoon on the internet, they realised a
combination duvet that could be whatever tog they wanted on either side of the
bed throughout the year didn’t exist.
They were desperate for decent sleep which they both needed in order to function
each day. This reality meant only one thing...twin beds! And then, the following
conversation ensued...
Ian “We should reinvent the duvet ourselves!”
Ruth “You mean get the sewing machine out Ruth”
Ian “Great idea! I’ll put the kettle on...do we have any choccy biccies... oh, and
white thread?”
Before long they had a crude prototype that they could show off to family and
friends, and when they ALL wanted one, they started making enquiries as to how
“someone gets lots of duvets made” to what was clearly a unique specification!
